Description
More heating capacity for an indoor equipment installation. The JX160 indoor model combines a wall-mounted cabinet, fan-assisted combustion and electronic temperature control for a suitably designed indoor pool or spa plant area.
This listing is the indoor natural gas model, part number 10959. It requires an approved coaxial flue system that terminates outdoors.
Key benefits
- Wall-mounted layout: Keeps the heater off the equipment pad and can make better use of a suitable wall beside your filtration equipment.
- Fan-assisted operation: A powered draught supports a compact heater design and the required flue arrangement.
- Cupro-nickel heat exchanger: Finned tubes provide efficient heat transfer and corrosion resistance when the water is correctly balanced.
- Stainless steel burners: Venturi burners distribute the flame across the heat exchanger.
- Digital temperature control: Electronic ignition and thermostat control make it straightforward to select and monitor your pool or spa temperature.
- Indoor flue design: The approved coaxial system carries combustion gases outside and brings combustion air in through the outer passage.

Selecting your JX model
The JX160 offers a higher published gas input than the JX130 (155 versus 120 MJ/h). This makes it worth considering where a larger water volume or a shorter warm-up time increases the heating requirement. Actual heating time depends on the pool or spa volume, temperature rise, cover use and heat loss.
Installation and controls
Have your installer confirm the approved coaxial flue components, route and termination before ordering. The flue must discharge outdoors; the heater must not discharge into the room. Confirm the flue-kit contents required for your site when obtaining an installation quote.
For integration with an AstralPool control system, have your installer confirm the compatible controller and communication connections required for your setup.
Installation and commissioning must be completed by a licensed gas fitter in accordance with the instructions supplied with the heater. Maintain the specified water chemistry, including a maximum salinity of 4,000 ppm.
